i-Test - On-site testing of corrosion inhibitor protection
Poor water quality is one of the common causes of heating systems breaking down costing the UK homeowner and business’s £m in repair bills. Testing the heating system water quality before and after installation, servicing or general maintenance can be an important way of reducing these costs. The addition of a chemical corrosion inhibitor to a wet central heating system is mandatory through Part L of the Building Regulations, but how do you check if any inhibitor added is doing a good job once it is in the system? Heating Engineers can now reliably check the performance of a corrosion inhibitor on site in under 5 minutes using the Scalemaster® i-Test®. Developed over a number of years by Scalemaster®, i-Test® was launched in 2019 and is the first true test that can be done on site using your smartphone.
